App Store and Google Play screenshot sizes, with a checker

App Store screenshots must match one of Apple's exact sizes. The required iPhone size is 1179 × 2556 or 1206 × 2622 pixels (iPhone with Dynamic Island, medium display); iPad apps also need 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732. Google Play takes any JPEG or PNG from 320 to 3,840 pixels per side, up to 2:1. Check yours below.

Questions people ask

What screenshot size does the App Store require?

At least one iPhone screenshot at the iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display) size: 1179 × 2556 or 1206 × 2622 pixels in portrait. If your app runs on iPad, you also need the iPad 13-inch size: 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732. Apple scales these down for smaller devices if your design is the same.

What is the Google Play screenshot size?

Google Play has no single size. Screenshots must be JPEG or 24-bit PNG, each side between 320 and 3,840 pixels, and the long side can't be more than twice the short side. For promotion, apps need at least 4 screenshots at 1080 × 1920 (9:16) or 1920 × 1080 (16:9) or larger.

How many screenshots can I upload?

On the App Store, 1 to 10 per device size. On Google Play, up to 8 per device type, and at least 2 across device types to publish.

Can App Store screenshots have transparency?

No. Apple says images can't include alpha channels or transparency, and Google Play asks for 24-bit PNG with no alpha. Save as JPEG, or export PNG without transparency. This checker flags PNG files that have an alpha channel.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. The checker reads each image's size and type inside your browser. Nothing is sent to our server or saved.
